I like having one blanket. Not a comforter and a blanket, not a sheet and a blanket, just a comforter. I need to have it on me to sleep. Just one. Not two layers. Not three layers. I can't sleep with a sheet. I need a comforter on me to sleep day and night, summer and winter. I use the same blanket year-round.
Now, it's drying in the washer.
I washed it this afternoon so that when I come back from school it won't be scummy. Fresh sheets to sleep on in my room that I'm going to be miserable in all summer. Yum. I dried it for 80 minutes on high and threw it on my bed before going out. I got back, got into bed, and the blanket was still wet. What the fuck. So, I threw it in the dryer for another 40 minutes. I just went to the dryer and I pulled it out. Nice and warm. And then wet and cold in spots. So now it's in for another 40 minutes.
The total drying time, if you're keeping up, is 160 minutes. Now, if you happened to sit through King Kong, it's about as long as that, which is entirely too long.
Speaking of movies, I saw The Hills Have Eyes over break. Sweet movie. I laughed out loud in the theater, cheered, and even threw the horns up during one scene. It was fun. I thought I would hate it but I think I might even go as far as buying it when it comes out. I also watched The Weatherman, which features Nicolas Cage as a weatherman living a crappy life, and that movie was awesome. It's so sad that you can't help but laugh at it. It was surprising. I was really looking forward to watching it and I'm surprised I wasn't disappointed by it.
Tomorrow I leave for Oswego, 4 days early.
Yeah, going back to school early during Spring Break. What a weird thing.
I've got papers to write. Two papers on the Middle East in general, then I want to get started on a paper on Yemen and a paper on Egypt for Middle East Politics. Warkentin loves making us work. Good man. I got an A- on his test (a 93). I was very happy with the results. I'm going to miss that guy when he leaves Oswego in 2007.
And yeah, Rita is at school, and that's definately a reason I'm going to go back so soon. I miss her.
I have to read for Comparitive Politics too (about India I think). I need to apparently step it up in that class. I seem to have trouble with that professor. I don't really know about her. She rips apart my papers when I hand them in, but ironically, Dr. Warkentin sent me an email about my papers for his class and said I was a great writer. So I don't know what to do about all that but try harder and read more.
I think I have something do for Public Policy and Administration. That class is so boring. The test was awful too. But I can do alright on all of my papers and stuff for it, so I should be fine with a B or so.
That's all. Nothing too exciting happened over break. I'm glad to be going back to school. Hopefully my blanket will dry soon and I can go to bed. I wanted to sleep at 12:30...
